Education

We believe that education is one of the most powerful forms of support — especially during pregnancy and the early postpartum period. Whether you're expecting your first baby or simply want a more prepared, empowered experience this time around, our education sessions are here to meet you with clarity, care, and evidence-based insight.

Too many families enter birth and early parenting saying, “I wish I had known...” Our goal is to help you feel informed before you’re in the moment. We help you prepare for real-life scenarios with both knowledge and emotional readiness — creating a space where questions are welcomed, partners are included, and your preferences are honored.

Whether you're starting from scratch or just need a refresher, these sessions are designed to meet you where you are. These are not cookie-cutter classes — we tailor each session to your unique needs, questions, and goals.

Let's Learn Together

Our one-on-one sessions go far beyond traditional classes.

They’re customized, thoughtful conversations that honor your values, goals, and experiences. Together, we’ll explore your birth preferences, prepare for postpartum recovery, and ensure you and your partner feel confident

so you can walk into this next chapter with clarity and peace of mind.

Sessions also include helpful tools such as planning workbooks and guided resources for independent study, helping you and your partner continue to prepare between sessions.

Our Approach:

  • Personalized Support: Each session is curated to meet your needs — labor options, coping strategies, comfort measures, partner support, hospital protocols, postpartum healing, and newborn care are all common topics to be explored.

  • Birth & Postpartum Planning: Together, we’ll build clear, practical plans for both your birth and early postpartum days — anchored in your values, preferences, and goals.

  • Partner Inclusion: Partners are encouraged to join! We help them feel confident in their role and offer actionable ways they can support you throughout birth and beyond.

  • Resources & Independent Study: You’ll receive thoughtfully crafted workbooks, checklists, and digital resources so you can continue learning and preparing between sessions.

  • Judgment-Free Information: We provide balanced, fact-based education that supports informed decision-making — no one-size-fits-all advice here.

Every birth is unique, and preparation makes all the difference. Through perinatal education, we’ll intentionally plan for your birth and postpartum journey, consider different possibilities, and explore strategies that align with your vision. The goal is to leave you feeling informed, confident, and ready to embrace your experience fully.

Meet Your Educator

Hey, I’m Sarah B.

Hey friends! I’m Sarah B., your coach and educator. I’m here to help you cut through the noise, tune into your own wisdom, and prepare for birth and postpartum in a way that’s both grounded and empowering.

My approach to perinatal education is personal, practical, and rooted in the belief that you should feel seen, supported, and ready — not just coached through a script or taught generic information. I believe education is about more than knowledge — it’s about approaching your experience with purpose.

I’ve spent years walking alongside families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and I’ve seen firsthand that when people feel informed, they feel more in control — and their experiences are more positive, empowered, and peaceful.

Our time together isn’t for me to tell you how to give birth or be a parent — our sessions will offer you the tools, knowledge, and self-trust to do it your way, with confidence and calm. We’ll work together to create intentional birth and postpartum plans that reflect your values and priorities.

I look forward to knowing you!

Education is the key to better births.

The Benefits of Education

Expectant families want not only comfort and support, but also confidence and clarity on their birth journey. Childbirth education provides practical knowledge, emotional preparation, and hands-on tools that reduce fear and help families feel empowered. And this isn’t just a “nice-to-have” — research shows that high-quality prenatal education can improve birth outcomes, reduce interventions, and boost overall satisfaction.

Leading studies and expert organizations agree: education before birth makes a measurable difference.

For example, research in the Journal of Perinatal Education found that participants in childbirth classes reported less anxiety, greater confidence, and improved coping during labor. Similarly, ACOG notes that prenatal education can play a key role in reducing unnecessary interventions and supporting informed decision-making.

The Benefits of Childbirth Education

  1. Reduced fear and anxiety
Knowledge is calming. Families who attend childbirth classes consistently report lower anxiety and greater emotional readiness. By understanding what to expect and how labor unfolds, you can replace fear with confidence.

  2. Lower intervention rates
Studies show that people who take childbirth classes are less likely to request elective inductions or unnecessary interventions. Education helps families recognize what’s routine, what’s optional, and how to advocate for evidence-based care.

  3. Improved coping and pain management
Classes provide tools — breathing techniques, comfort measures, movement strategies, partner support — that help families cope more effectively with labor pain. This often leads to lower epidural usage and greater satisfaction with chosen pain management.

  4. Stronger partner involvement
Childbirth education equips partners to play an active, supportive role. Research shows that when partners are prepared, mothers feel more supported and relationships strengthen through the birth process.

  5. Better breastfeeding and postpartum outcomes
Education doesn’t end with birth. Many classes include breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum planning — all of which are linked to higher breastfeeding rates, smoother recovery, and more confident parenting.

  6. Greater satisfaction and empowerment
Families who feel informed and prepared report more positive birth experiences. They are less likely to describe trauma or regret, and more likely to look back on birth as empowering and transformative.

  7. Endorsed by experts
Organizations like Lamaze International, ICEA, AWHONN, and ACOG recommend childbirth education as an essential part of prenatal care. Education is consistently recognized as safe, cost-effective, and impactful.

Childbirth education isn’t about memorizing facts — it’s about gaining tools, confidence, and peace of mind. Research shows it leads to fewer interventions, more effective coping, better postpartum transitions, and greater birth satisfaction. By choosing education, you’re choosing to feel informed, empowered, and supported every step of the way.
