“We built the weekend we wish we’d had.”
Our parenting journey began (as a surprise!) over ten years ago. Four very different pregnancies and births later, we’ve learned that the way you prepare matters. It shapes everything from the decisions you make in the birth room to how you show up for each other in the exhausting newborn haze.
In our work with families, we’ve seen it again and again: couples pour time and love into the nursery, the registry and the shower, yet feel lost and overwhelmed when it comes to labor, postpartum recovery and newborn care. Most simply haven’t taken the time to slow down and prepare together. We created Embrace to give couples that time, to bring them closer and make room for the conversations that matter most before baby arrives.
We look forward to knowing you! - Sarah & John

Embrace FAQs
Who is Embrace for?
Embrace is for expecting couples who want real time away together and real preparation for birth and the weeks after.
We welcome expecting parents in every season, whether this is your first baby or your fourth, with every kind of family and every kind of birth plan, from home birth to scheduled cesarean.
If you’re craving rest, connection and confidence before baby arrives, you’re in the right place.
What’s included in my reservation?
Our goal is to make this effortless. Each reservation is for one couple (you and your partner or support person) and includes:
- The weekend’s expert-led group sessions and activities
- A private bedroom for the two of you (most retreats also include a private bathroom)
- Meals as outlined in your retreat agenda, plus snacks and beverages
- A retreat welcome gift
- 12 months of access to our self-paced online childbirth course, covering birth, the immediate postpartum period and newborn care, once your enrollment is confirmed
Travel to and from the retreat, parking and any other incidental costs are not included.
Want a little more? Embrace Signature is the most personal way to prepare. It adds extra touches to your weekend, including one-on-one support from Sarah, your doula, before and after baby arrives. Signature extras may vary from retreat to retreat.
What is the investment?
Rates vary by location, and enrollment begins at $3,850 per couple. A $250 deposit* reserves your place, and the full balance is due 30 days before the retreat. Pay in full, or choose a payment plan, including options through PayPal and Klarna. For cancellation details, see “What happens if we can’t make it?” below.
Family and friends can help, too. Many couples add a babymoon fund to their baby registry so loved ones can contribute toward the weekend. It’s a meaningful gift that lasts well beyond the shower.
*If you decide on your welcome call that Embrace isn’t the right fit, we’ll refund your deposit in full. Once you confirm your enrollment, the deposit is non-refundable.
How do I enroll?
- Reserve your spot with a $250 deposit. If you decide on your welcome call that Embrace isn’t the right fit, we’ll refund your deposit in full.
- Book your welcome call with Sarah. We’ll make sure Embrace is the right fit for you and discuss next steps before we send your official invitation.
- Finalize registration. Following your welcome call, you’ll accept your attendee agreement, get access to our online childbirth education course, complete your intake form and select your payment plan.
What happens if we can’t make it?
Just email us as soon as you can. Once your enrollment is confirmed, your $250 deposit is non-refundable. Beyond that:
- More than 30 days before the retreat: a full refund of everything else you’ve paid.
- 15 to 30 days before: a 50% refund of everything else you’ve paid.
- Fewer than 15 days before, or if you don’t attend: no refund.
Once your enrollment is confirmed, your online childbirth course stays yours for the full 12 months, even if you later cancel. You’re also welcome to request a transfer of your place to another couple before the retreat. If part of your payment is non-refundable when you cancel, reach out and we’ll discuss your options. Full details are in your attendee agreement.
When will we get the agenda and retreat address?
Your final agenda and the retreat’s full address are shared by email about two weeks before the retreat begins.
I don’t have a partner, or mine can’t come. Can I still reserve?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to attend solo, though we warmly encourage you to bring your best friend, your mom, your doula, or any other great support person in your life.
What kind of education can I expect?
Our approach is personal, practical and evidence-based. We share balanced information, never a single opinion presented as the only right way, so you can cut through the noise, trust your own instincts and make decisions with confidence. We’re not here to tell you how to give birth or how to parent. Partners are part of every session, not observers, and leave with concrete ways to support you through birth and the early weeks.
Content shifts slightly from retreat to retreat based on the needs of the group, but common topics include pregnancy and postpartum nutrition, labor comfort techniques, the physiology of birth, newborn and new-parent care, partner involvement and support, and self- and partner-led advocacy in medical settings. We’ll explore a range of birth settings and options, from spontaneous home birth to planned induction to emergency cesarean to help you name your preferences and communicate them confidently to your care team.
Do you accommodate dietary needs?
Yes. We ask about food sensitivities, allergies and preferences, including common pregnancy aversions, on your intake form, and plan every meal and snack with those needs in mind. We do our best to accommodate allergies, aversions and restrictions, but we can’t guarantee an allergen-free environment or account for every dietary recommendation. Ultimately, each guest is responsible for what they choose to eat and drink.
Where can I find your policies?
You can review our Embrace Retreat Attendee Agreement here.
It covers all retreat policies and expectations. After your welcome call, you’ll receive a digital copy for you and your partner to accept.
